Speech, Language, and Assessment Services
We provide an exceptional standard of services to meet the therapy needs of children, youth, and adults at the home, community, or via telepractice. We specialize in speech, language, assessment, communication & support services for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and their families.
It is our mission to provide comprehensive, respectful services to persons with intellectual developmental disabilities and to support their right to live as valued, productive and contributing members of their families, peer groups, schools, workplaces and communities.
Aurora Sun Services, LLC, a Black woman owned business established in 2020 by Dr. Ellis, seeks to deliver professional, planned and coordinated speech, language and communication services and supports to persons with intellectual developmental disabilities to live, socialize, seek education, work, and participate in programs and their communities within the District of Columbia. Services will be provided by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists (SLP) and licensed speech-language pathology assistants (under the supervision of certified SLP) who are not only skilled, but caring for the whole person and their family.
Speech Services
Assisting with speech production, articulation, motor planning and phonology, we also provide support in other key areas such as voice, phonation quality, pitch, and loudness.
Language Services
We offer supportive services covering nonverbal, spoken, and written communication, supporting individuals with cognitive difficulties, attention and memory, as well as social skills.
Assessment Services
We provide a variety of diagnoses in different types of communication disorders and use a range of assessment techniques to understand personal backgrounds and needs.
